Leupold VX 3i 3.5-10 X rifle scope possible clone

Just found out recently that this scope may be a clone. Had it on a 375 contender and it works fine. I guess it is hard too tell . I think they are less weight than the original vari – x lll. Scope is like new condition. Mili- dot reticle.
